....for some digital. I noticed some pinkish light in the clouds to the east, so I grabbed a couple cameras and responsibly drove the speed limit to my favourite sunset photo spot, and I’d say that was a good call.
Nikon D5300, 18-55 VRII, untouched jpegs. I may poke at them in lightroom at some point, but I’m really happy with them as is. Film is fun, but you can do a hell of a lot with a $500 DSLR.
Also, since when did kinja start making uploaded photos so much smaller? These don’t look as good as they should. They’re all compressed and weird.

Kinjas gonna Kinja. I'm still trying to find a better high quality free spot to share photos that actually gets some views. Instagram is lacking in photo quality, YouPic lacks exposure, and the Photography subblog is about ten people.

Untouched JPEG and DSLR should never, ever be in the same sentence. Shoot RAW, edit, export as JPEG. If you don’t shoot RAW with a DSLR, you are doing yourself a disservice.

I shoot RAW+JPEG. Like 75% of the time I’m happy enough with the JPEG, and then I have the RAW file and Lightroom for the other 25%. These ones are part of the 75% that I’m happy with. Keep in mind they look much better on my end, no visible compression like kinja is showing.
